YUAN Long is currently serving as a faculty at the School of Music, The Chinese University of Hong Kong, Shenzhen. He is also a flute lecturer at the United International College, a guest flutist of the Opera House Orchestra Zurich & Singapore Symphony Orchestra, the owner of the Soloist Diploma of Zurich University of Arts (The Highest Diploma of the World Classic Music), the guest principal flute of the Qingdao Symphony Orchestra, the BiliBili Honored Flute Educator, the Deputy Director of Guangzhou Flute Association. He was the Solo Flute of the Guangzhou Symphony Orchestra and a faculty of the Guangzhou Youth Symphony Orchestra, the guest principal flute of the Shenzhen Symphony Orchestra.

Long studied flute at the age of ten. Since 2003, Long studied with Prof. Gao Qinping at the Affiliated High School of Xi'an Conservatory of Music. After graduating from high school, he got a full scholarship from the National University of Singapore Yong Siew Toh Conservatory of Music and studied Flute with Prof. JIN Ta. At School, he passed the Freelance audition of the Singapore Symphony Orchestra. After graduating with a bachelor's degree, he successfully passed the audition for a Master's degree at the Royal Northern College of Music and the audition for the Performing Master's degree at Zurich University of Arts. In 2010, Long started his Master's at Zürich University of Arts with Prof. Maria Goldschmidt. During his time at the Zurich University of Arts, he passed the Internship audition of the Philharmonia Zurich and was Invited to play in the Music Season Concerts with them. After receiving the Master's Degree, Yuan Long passed the audition for the Soloist Diploma at Zurich University of Arts and got the Soloist Diploma with Excellent performance in 2014.

Long joined the Guangzhou Symphony Orchestra as a Solo flute and also played as a flute instructor in the flute faculty at the Guangzhou Youth Symphony Orchestra. During the time with Guangzhou Symphony Orchestra, he played with a lot of conductors and soloists, including Long Yu, Guoyong Zhang, Lü Jia, Daye LIN, Yang Yang, Yi Huang, John Nelson, David Stern, Helene Grimaud, Julien Rachlin, Leonidas Kavakos, Yuja Wang, etc. From the year 2021, YUAN Long has been invited to be a Flute Lecturer at United International College. Because of his talented teaching, his students won many prizes in the Music Competition. He was also an honor tutor at the BMF Music Competition, the Japan International Music Competition, the 2nd Asia International Art Competition, the US National Music Competition, etc. Moreover, his students have successfully passed the audition at Bern University of Arts, The University of Manchester, and Indiana University.

Since September 2023, Long has been serving as a flute faculty at the School of Music, The Chinese University of Hong Kong, Shenzhen. As a faculty, Long is active between Teaching and Playing. He had been invited as a flute soloist to play at the 2023 International Computer Music Conference and Arnold Schönberg's 150th Celebration Chamber Music Concert. He is also invited as the principal flute to play at the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area The 4th International Music Festival. Moreover, he is invited as a soloist to play at Harmony's Delight – School of Music, CUHK-Shenzhen Chamber Concert in Shenzhen Concert Hall, and Faculty Concert by School of Music, CUHK-Shenzhen in the Lee Hysan Concert Hall, CUHK. In 2023, Long was honored Famous Chinese Artist and BiliBili Honored Flute Educator.

YUAN Long won first place in the Second Singapore International Flute Competition, the Excellence Award in the IBLA International Music Competition, and third place in the Singapore Concerto Competition. He was a guest flutist of the Philharmonia Zurich, Singapore Symphony Orchestra, and Macao Orchestra, and a guest principal flute of the Shenzhen Symphony Orchestra and Qingdao Symphony Orchestra.
